This nationally accredited qualification provides participants with the training, skills and knowledge to select, install, set up, test, fault find, repair and maintain electrical systems and equipment in buildings and premises. It includes Electrical Regulatory Authority Council (ERAC), or their successor’s, Essential Performance Capabilities for an ‘Unrestricted Electrician’s Licence’.

The UEE30820 Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician qualification effectively prepares apprentices for a career in the electrotechnology sector, focusing on practical skills, safety, and industry standards. This four-year program is for employment-based apprentices in Western Australia (WA), preparing them for career in the Electrical Industry, and when completed the learner can apply for an Unrestricted Electrician's Licence.
It covers skills and knowledge essential for electrical systems and equipment in buildings and premises, including installation, testing, fault finding, repair, and maintenance, aligning with the Essential Performance Capabilities of an Unrestricted Electrician’s Licence.
The course is structured over four years, combining off-the-job training and assessment (classroom learning, group activities, self-study, and online learning) and on-the-job experience. Learners attend CET for off-the-job training as per an annual schedule. It includes formative assessments (review activities, practical projects) and summative assessments (performance evidence, knowledge evidence). These are conducted in structured environments or in the workplace.

Graduates will be issued with a certificate and a record of results showing the units of competency completed.
The CET Skills Recognition process benefits applicants who have undergone prior learning and recognises competencies obtained outside a formal educational or training environment, gained through life or work experience. Competencies currently held by applicants will be formally assessed against each applicable Unit of Competency and may be recognised regardless of how, when and where they were achieved. Skills
Recognition is an assessment process and a cost recovery charge will apply.
CET accepts and provides credit to learners for units of competency and/or modules (unless licensing or regulatory requirements prevent this) where these are evidenced by either AQF certification documentation issued by any other RTO or AQF authorised issuing organisation or an authenticated VET transcript issued by the Registrar.
