That's a great question. How much it will cost to hire an electrical apprentice will depend on what skill level you require and how old the apprentice is. There may also be subsidies available that could affect the charge out rate. For example, if you hired a mature-age apprentice who was in their first year of training, the rate would be different when compared to a third-year apprentice who was not mature-age.
The costs for apprentices are all set out in the relevant legislation and their award rates can be found in the Electrical, Electronic and Communications Contracting Award 2020.
