The Electrical Logbook is going online for mine sites only

Recently Building and Energy announced that an online version of the Electrical Logbook is ready for release for mine sites only. The eNotice Electrical Logbook will eventually replace the paper based electrical logbook that is currently in use.

An Electrical Supervisor and Mine Operator can apply for a book. Electrical Contractors who are authorised to carry out work on the mine site can be added to the logbook by the mine and will be able to access the logbook via their normal eNotice log in page.

Mine sites can apply for the eNotice Electrical Logbook from 4 December 2024.

A few of the great new benefits of the eNotice Electrical Logbook are:

  • Electronic recording and licensing details are linked to Building and Energy, removing paper from the environment.
  • Automated alerts for the EC/IH to acknowledge electrical installing work entries.
  • The eNotice Electrical Logbook is free and accessible using an online computer, or mobile device 24/7.
  • Entries and information safely recorded electronically assisting compliance with the legislative requirements.

However, it does not replace the day-to-day Notice of Completions or Electrical Safety Certificates used in industry outside of mining.

Paper logbooks can still be used. However, it is intended that these will eventually be phased out.
